We’ve talked about other Redragon products on this website before and never with disappointment. As you can guess we also didn’t feel disappointment when reviewing this product. The Redragon is one of the best budget gaming perihelia producers in the world. Their products aren’t perfect because of the low price they’re trying to achieve but when compared to others in the same price range, they stand out in a very good way.
Redragon Karura K502 Review
- Very rigid
- The material has a grainy texture – good grip
- 7 different backlight colors
- Braided cable
- Windows key lock
- Spacebar is harder to press than other buttons
- Keyboard feet have no grips
The dimensions of the Redragon Karura K502 are 17.75 x 8 x .75 inches and it weighs 1.3 pounds. When you use the keyboard the first thing you’ll notice is the unordinary type of plastic. It’s not the usual hard plastic, which most keyboards use but it’s very soft on touch. It feels great but it makes the keys a little bit mushy. Some people don’t really like that because when you are used to mechanical keyboards, you might have a problem understanding when the key is pressed down. That problem really hurts your game but you’ll get the feel to it shortly. The wrist rest is huge. Having a huge wrist rest is always a plus because it will support your hands, no matter their size. The symbols on the keys are laser engraved. That means that there won’t be signs of wear after just short use which is a big problem for most cheap keyboards.
It also has background lighting with 7 different colors and a pulse mode. There’s also a no backlight setting, which most keyboards with lighting don’t have. Having a constant light in your room may be very annoying. The Redragon Karura has a braided cable for extra durability and a cooler look.
The Redragon Karura K502 also offers the option to lock the windows key. This is a very underrated and great feature. I bet every gamer has been in a situation where you’re in the middle of the action and you accidentally hit the windows key and you get a huge fps spike. Those few seconds may not be a long time in the real world, but for a gamer making a clutch play those seconds mean life or death. The USB connector is gold plated. There’s also a possibility to change the response speed of the keyboard. This a pretty weird option because I’m sure everyone wants it to be as minimal as possible.
When thinking about buying the Redragon Karura K502 you can be sure that it’s a quality, durable product. When you have a low budget then this is 100% the best buy you can make. This keyboard offers way more than all his competitors in the same price range. No other keyboard under 30$ has such a beautiful design and so many on-keyboard settings. Although the used materials are unorthodox, when you get used to it, there’s no way you want your old keyboard back.
